Kale Squire

Botanical name: Brassica oleracea

Squire is a prolific and high-yielding kale variety recognised for its tightly curled leaves and delicate taste. It produces blue-green frilly leaves that are both tender and sweet in flavour, making them suitable for eating raw or cooked similar to other leafy greens. This kale is long-lasting and resistant to bolting in warmer temperatures, allowing for a continual harvest up until the spring of the following year. When the plant starts to form side shoots with flower buds in the spring, these can be harvested and consumed like sprouting broccoli for an extended harvest period.
