Cabbage Red Acre

Botanical name: Brassica oleracea

Red Acre is a highly regarded variety that is known as the best early-maturing heritage cabbage. It reliably produces a medium-sized, tightly packed head that can grow up to 20cm in diameter and 1.5kg in weight, supported by a short, sturdy stalk, making it particularly suitable for smaller garden spaces. The stalks, leaves, and head offer a rich, sweet flavour and can be eaten either raw, cooked, or fermented. This cabbage is also recognised for its resistance to splitting and disease, as well as its excellent storage capabilities.
