Shipping policy
Last updated: 17 January 2026
Thank you for shopping with The Eastern Field. This policy outlines how orders are processed, shipped, and collected, including estimated delivery times, shipping costs, and Click & Collect arrangements.
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
Courier & Shipping
Courier Service
All orders are couriered domestically via NZ Post. Delivery timeframes provided are estimates only and may vary depending on location, delivery service selected, rural delivery, and circumstances outside our control.
Shipping Locations
Orders are shipped within New Zealand only. International shipping is not currently available. Orders must be delivered to a valid New Zealand street address. Delivery to PO Boxes is not available.
Order Processing
Live Plants and Organisms (Courier Delivery)
Order processing for live plants and organisms occurs on Monday, with dispatch on Tuesday.
Orders must be placed by Sunday night to be included in that week’s dispatch. Orders placed after this time will be processed the following Monday and dispatched the following Tuesday.
This dispatch schedule helps ensure live plants and organisms spend minimal time in transit and arrive in the best possible condition.
Non-Perishable Items (Courier Delivery)
Processing time for non-perishable items, such as prints and seeds, is typically 1–2 business days after payment is received.
Orders are processed and dispatched Monday to Friday.
Orders placed after 12:00 PM, during weekends, or on public holidays will be processed on the next available business day.
Public Holidays
No order processing or dispatch occurs on weekends or New Zealand public holidays.
If a scheduled processing or dispatch day falls on a public holiday, it will be moved to the next available business day.
Delivery Times
Delivery timeframes begin once an order has been dispatched.
Estimated delivery times vary depending on delivery address, selected shipping service, and whether the address is urban or rural. Rural deliveries may take longer than urban deliveries.
All delivery timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
Delivery Rates
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on the items in your order, parcel size, weight, delivery location, and selected shipping service.
Live Plants and Organisms
Live plants and organisms are shipped in a range of box sizes. Box size and weight depend on the quantity and type of items ordered.
Shipping costs for live plants and organisms are calculated automatically at checkout to reflect these factors.
Non-Perishable Items
Non-perishable items, including prints and seeds, are packaged for safe delivery.
- Prints are shipped in protective mailing tubes.
- Seeds are packaged in envelopes or small boxes, depending on quantity.
Shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout.
Shipping Restrictions
Due to the living nature of plants and organisms, dispatch days for these items are fixed to ensure they spend minimal time in transit. Dispatch cannot be expedited outside the stated schedule.
Customers are responsible for ensuring live deliveries can be received promptly, as plants and organisms should not be left unattended for extended periods.

Click & Collect is available for online orders collected at the Tauranga Farmers Market.

Order Cut-off and Processing
Order processing for Click & Collect occurs on Friday, with collection on Saturday.
Orders must be placed by Thursday night to be eligible for collection at that Saturday’s market. Orders placed after this time will be processed the following Friday and collected the next Saturday.
This schedule helps ensure live plants arrive in the best possible condition.
Collection details will be confirmed in the order confirmation email.
Collection Requirements
Customers must bring their order confirmation when collecting Click & Collect orders.
If someone else is collecting on your behalf, they must present the order confirmation and, if requested, a form of identification.
Orders will only be released to the person collecting with proof of purchase.
Live Plants and Organisms (Click & Collect)
Due to the perishable nature of live plants and organisms:
- Click & Collect orders cannot be cancelled for change of mind once placed and processed.
- Orders must be collected during the scheduled collection window and should not be left uncollected.
- Orders that are not collected, or where proof of purchase is not provided, may not be eligible for a refund as these items cannot safely be held or resold.
- Uncollected live goods may be forfeited where they cannot be maintained in saleable condition.
Any issues will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and handled in accordance with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
Non-Perishable Items (Click & Collect)
Non-perishable items, including prints and seeds, are not time-sensitive.
If you are unable to collect an order as scheduled, please email contact@theeasternfield.com as soon as possible to arrange an alternative collection time where feasible.
Damages, Losses, and Delivery Issues
If your order does not arrive, arrives damaged, or arrives in an unsatisfactory condition, please email contact@theeasternfield.com as soon as possible with your order number and any relevant photographs.
All delivery and collection issues are assessed on a case-by-case basis and handled in accordance with obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
For live plants and organisms, minor cosmetic damage, natural variation, or temporary transit stress does not constitute a fault.
Service Interruptions and Delays
Delivery or collection delays may occur due to circumstances beyond our control, including courier disruptions, weather events, market cancellations, high seasonal demand, or public holidays.
Where possible, significant delays will be communicated. Any remedies provided will be in line with New Zealand consumer law.
